What is the Boyle Heights Fire Relief Fund?
The Boyle Heights Fire Relief Fund is an emergency grant program designed to provide immediate, direct financial relief to small businesses and street vendors in Boyle Heights who have been impacted by the Lineage cold storage facility fire that began on June 17, 2026. Building on Inclusive Action’s experience deploying over $2.5 million in cash aid to 5,000+ workers following the January 2025 wildfires, this fund will provide rapid-response grants to help impacted small business owners stabilize their livelihoods during an acute and ongoing emergency. The fund is designed to move quickly and meet community members where they are in the immediate aftermath of the disaster.

Who does this Relief Fund Serve?
The Fund will serve small business owners and street vendors operating in and around Boyle Heights who have experienced direct income or asset losses as a result of the Lineage Fire and its associated shelter-in-place orders, air quality disruptions, and business closures. Inclusive Action will prioritize applicants who are living or working within the following ZIP codes: 90022, 90023, 90033, and 90063.
Why is the emergency fund needed?
The June 17, 2026 fire at the Lineage Logistics cold storage facility triggered multi-day shelter-in-place orders, hazardous air quality conditions, and significant disruption to surrounding streets and transit routes. For small businesses and street vendors in Boyle Heights, the impact has been immediate and financial: lost sales days, forced closures, inability to access worksites, and ongoing uncertainty as the fire continued burning into its sixth day. While media and government attention has focused largely on environmental remediation and public health, the economic harm to Boyle Heights’ informal and small business economy has gone largely unaddressed. Inclusive Action is based in Boyle Heights and has served this community for over 15 years; we are uniquely positioned to deploy fast, trusted, and culturally competent relief.
