Inclusive Action responds to President Trump’s Executive Order on Immigrant Access to Banking System
President Trump’s Executive Order uproots the American banking system and the very fabric of our economy to continue his horrific attacks on immigrant families.
The President is attempting to stop banks from doing what they have done for decades – provide access to bank accounts that immigrant workers, business owners, and families rely on.
We’ve seen this playbook before – federal government policies driven by hatred, racism, and division.
Trump is trying to block immigrants’ access to every part of the economy – from small business loans provided by the Small Business Administration to capital and resources provided by Community Development Financial Institutions like us. He’s trying to weaponize the government and our tax system to gain access to immigrants’ private data.
These attacks are reprehensible – they will hurt immigrant families who are the heart of our cities and our country. On top of the hurt and harm they will cause, they will crater the U.S. economy and cost the nation hundreds of billions of dollars.
We know that policies based on hatred and exclusion will never win in the end. We will keep fighting for an inclusive economy that honors the contributions of everyone.
