Small Business Anti-Displacement

Inclusive Action works with our coalition partners to advocate for new city, county, and state policies that protect small businesses from displacement and keep them in their communities.

Small Business Alliance for Equitable Communities

We are a founding member of the Small Business Alliance for Equitable Communities (SBAEC) coalition, which advocates for underserved entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs of color, and women-owned small businesses.

In 2024, the coalition championed the Commercial Tenant Protection Act (Senate Bill 1103 – authored by Senator Caroline Menjivar), successfully advancing the nation’s first comprehensive commercial tenant protection policy for small businesses and nonprofits. Learn more about these protections and how small businesses and nonprofits can use these new legal rights when leasing a commercial space.

In 2025, we’re helping advance a slate of small business displacement protections in LA County, including advocating for a strong commercial tenant relocation assistance policy that would provide significant financial support to small businesses facing large rent increases.
Check out the coalition’s website to read more and get involved to support small businesses.
